Do I need to install anything to get started?
No. KitTracker runs in any modern browser — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge. Just sign up and start adding your inventory. Nothing to download or configure.
Can I import my existing gear list?
Yes. Upload a CSV file and your full inventory is imported in seconds — items, categories, quantities, and serial numbers. We accept any standard spreadsheet export.
What happens if I lose internet on site?
The paid Desktop App runs a full local server with no internet required — ideal for remote festival sites or venues with poor connectivity.
How do I prove an item was returned in good condition?
Every checkout and return logs a condition (Good, Damaged, or Faulty) with a timestamp and the borrower's name. This audit trail is exportable as a report and serves as evidence if a hire company raises a dispute.
Can multiple kit managers use it at the same time?
Yes. Multiple managers can be logged in and processing checkouts simultaneously. Free supports 1 manager, Pro supports up to 5, and Premium is unlimited.
What's the difference between a serialised and a pooled item?
Serialised items are tracked individually (e.g. "Canon C70 #3" has its own checkout history). Pooled items are quantity-tracked (e.g. "20 radios" — you log how many go out and how many come back in each condition).
Can I use it across multiple events?
Yes. Each event is a separate workspace with its own inventory, borrowers, teams, and loan history. The free tier supports 1 active event at a time; paid plans are unlimited.
